New Chevrolet Camaro not likely until 2010?

A new report by Edmunds suggests the 2006 Chevrolet Camaro Concept won't see production until the 2010 model year. Apparently, the Camaro will debut alongside a rear-wheel-drive Impala, followed by similar models from Pontiac and Buick in 2011. (See also: Firebird, Trans AM, and GTO rumors). The report comes only days after AutoWeek said Camaro production could come as early as 2008. Since both publications cite anonymous sources, we'll hold judgement until better information becomes available. However, in January, GM's Ed Welburn said, The Camaro isn't a typical car [...] I think we could move very quickly." The Chevrolet Camaro Concept was unveiled in January at the Detroit auto show.
