Euro invasion: Ford to import Euro-spec Focus, Fiesta, C-Max and Kuga to U.S.

Ford officially confirmed last month that the U.S. market will eventually get a version of the Euro-spec Ford Focus, but it looks as though the sporty compact will be just the first of several Ford Europe vehicles to make the trek across the Atlantic.

According to Automotive News, Ford is planning to bring its C-Max and Kuga to the U.S. sometime in the early 2010s. Both vehicles are based on the Euro-spec Focus C1 platform.

It has been widely speculated that Ford could replace its Escape SUV with the Kuga, but it remains unclear if the Escape could hang on in the market place that long without a significant upgrade. The Escape was launched in 2001 and, despite upgrades in styling and powertrains, is starting to show its age.

The Ford Fiesta will be the first Ford of Europe vehicle to make it to the U.S., with an on sale date of sometime in 2010.
