Hyundai sets goal of 50,000 Genesis sales
Hyundai's vice president of development, John Krafcik, said that the automaker thinks that selling 50,000 Genesis sedans and coupes combined is a realistic goal. Krafcik said that the automaker is expecting about 20,000 sedan and 30,000 coupe sales annually.
Krafcik did not make it clear how many long-wheelbase Genesis sedans the automaker would target selling. The standard Genesis sedan recently went on sale and the Coupe is expected to arrive in showrooms early next year.
Krafcik also told Reuters that Hyundai will bring the Sonata hybrid to market in for the 2010 model year. The Sonata hybrid is expected to feature cutting-edge lithium-ion batteries.
