Danica Patrick takes her racing to the streets

A few mystery Santa Clause characters likely saved some Arizona residents from receiving speeding tickets this holiday season, but they apparently didn't have time to cover all of the region's radar guns. On December 9th, racecar driver Danica Patrick was pulled over for speeding in Scottsdale, Arizona.

According to azcentral.com, the famed racecar driver was pulled over in her gold 2007 Mercedes-Benz for speeding on December 9th. Although Patrick has posed for enough photo shoots to qualify her as a bona fide model, she must have come up against a pretty tough cop as she received a ticket for doing 54 mph in a 35 mph zone.

That ticket marks Patrick's second speeding ticket in Scottsdale this year. She was ticketed in January for traveling 57 mph in a 40 mph zone.

The 2005 IndyCar Series rookie of the year is scheduled for a court hearing about her most recent ticket on January 5th.
