Shelby ex-president to head up West Coast Customs
Former Shelby American president Amy Boylan has been appointed president of West Coast Customs, the design firm behind Pimp My Ride.
Former Shelby American president Amy Boylan has been appointed president of West Coast Customs, the Southern California-based custom car design firm made famous by MTV's Pimp My Ride.
"Amy fit right in with my crew because she's a car enthusiast like us," said West Coast Customs CEO Ryan Friedlinghaus in a statement released to the media. "And like us, she believes that you need to balance creative, irreverent ideas with smart business practices."
Boylan, who left Shelby American earlier this year, first worked with West Coast Customs when she was a senior vice president at Mattel and was responsible for the company's Hot Wheels toy car division.
"We've stayed in touch and even worked on a one-off custom specialty Mustang together a couple of years ago," Boylan said in a statement. "I look forward to working closely with Ryan and his talented team and helping build this great brand around the globe."
Shelby and West Coast Customs first teamed up in 2006 to deliver a supercharged, Shelby-modified Ford Mustang GT.
At Shelby American, Boylan was replaced by John Luft - and earlier this week, Leftlane published an exclusive interview with Shelby's new chief.
