MINI Countryman causes Las Vegas bomb scare
The MINI Countryman isn't even on sale in the U.S. yet, but the compact crossover recently caused quite the commotion on the Las Vegas strip.
Although Las Vegas Metro Police and the Luxor aren't talking about the vehicle that caused the Luxor's parking structure to be evacuated and temporarily closed late Saturday night, we have the scoop from inside sources!
Metro Police responded to a "suspicious vehicle" call around 9:20PM, and in response, the parking structure was closed to all vehicles, as well as to pedestrians, from 9:30 to nearly 11PM.
Fortunately there were no explosives found, only this MINI Cooper S Countryman with European license plates, and a "suspicious" cooler strapped in with what appeared to be Arabic writing.
As for MINI - we're not ever sure they're aware of the commotion this has caused yet. Currently, the car has been "booted" by Luxor's security, and a note was left on the windshield with instructions to contact the hotel's security department.
MINI should be pleased that more aggressive measures weren't taken by Metro's Bomb Squad!
