Aston Martin teases limited-edition CC100 roadster
Just two examples of the topless CC100 will be built.
Aston Martin has published a teaser sketch that previews a limited-edition roadster called CC100. The car is scheduled to make its public debut at the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring endurance race on May 19th, 2013.
Designed to celebrate Aston Martin's 100th birthday, the CC100 is expected to borrow styling cues from the 1956 DBR/1 open top racer that was on display at the Geneva Mototor Show last March. The retro-styled car will share its platform with the V12-powered Vantage and it will have no roof and no doors. Whether or not it will be street legal is not known.
Inside, the CC100 will wear round gauges inspired by the race cars of yore and a wooden steering wheel. A single bucket seat with a racing harness will come standard.
Just two examples of the CC100 will be built and both are likely to find a new home in a matter of hours.
Official pictures and details about Aston Martin's latest concept will be available over the coming days.
Two more concepts will round out Aston Martin's centennial celebrations. Both will be presented at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California next August and they are scheduled to land in showrooms before the year ends.
