Audi commemorates milestone with TTS Competition

Audi is celebrating the 500,000th TT it has built.

To honor its half-millionth Audi TT, German automaker Audi has unveiled a special edition version of the high-performance TTS.

The TTS Competition, which will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month, will be limited to just 500 units available as either a coupe or a convertible. Production is set to begin in October.

A choice of Imola Yellow or Nimbus Gray paint schemes plus a fixed rear spoiler with aluminum-look elements and 19-inch "Rotor" alloy wheels set off the TTS Competition outside.

That gray and yellow theme is echoed inside, where both design elements and contrasting stitching on the standard leather-wrapped seats. A special steering wheel is also included, as are otherwise optional rear parking sensors. Aluminum door trim badges indicate that each TTS Competition is "1 of 500."

Powered by the TTS' standard 2.0-liter, 272-horsepower four-cylinder turbo engine, the TTS Competition will use a six-speed S tronic gearbox.

Audi hasn't announced whether the TTS Competition will be bound for showrooms in North America, but it did indicate that the package adds 1,900 euros to the sticker price in Europe.
