Frankfurt preview: 2014 Peugeot 3008

The 3008 gets Peugeot\'s signature floating grille.

Peugeot has published a full set of details about the facelifted 2014 3008 MPV that will greet the public for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

The four-year old 3008 gains a more discreet floating grille, a new bumper with C-shaped chrome trim around the air intakes and headlights inspired by the ones found on the second-generation 308 hatchback. The biggest change out back is a set of refreshed tail lamps, while new exterior colors and additional alloy wheel designs round out the exterior modifications.

The interior changes are minor and largely limited to a revised center console and different trim on the dashboard.

Mechanically, the 3008 is available with an assortment of gasoline- and diesel-burning four-cylinder engines ranging from a 1.6-liter HDi oil burner to a 163-horsepower 1.6-liter THP gas engine developed jointly by PSA and BMW. Range-topping models are powered by Peugeot's 200-horsepower diesel-electric HYbrid4 drivetrain.

Following its unveiling in Germany, the facelifted 3008 will land in Peugeot showrooms across Europe early next year. Pricing information will be published closer to its on-sale date.

In addition to the Botoxed 3008, Peugeot will debut the Golf-fighting 308, the 270-horsepower 308 R concept, the sleek RCZ R, the gas-sipping 208 HYbrid FE and the facelifted 5008 in Frankfurt.
