Next Nissan Titan to bow at 2015 Detroit show
Nissan will unveil its next-generation Titan pickup at the 2015 Detroit auto show.
Nissan will unveil an all-new version of its Titan pickup truck at next year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the automaker's chief planning officer has revealed.
The Titan has long been an also-ran in the full-size pickup truck segment - trailing segment heavy-weights like the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado - but that could change come early 2015. Andy Palmer, Nissan's executive vice president and chief planning officer, revealed to Bloomberg that Nissan will unveil an all-new version of the Titan at the 2015 Detroit auto show next January.
First introduced in 2004, the Titan has changed relatively little during its decade on the market. We still don't know exactly what Nissan is planning for the 2015 Titan, but expect to see a much wider variety of body styles and trim options. An entry-level V6 model is also rumored.
We do, however, know that the next Titan will be available with a Cummins-sourced 5.0L V8 turbo diesel. Specs for the mill remain under wraps, but insiders say the oil burner will churn out at least 300 horsepower and around 550 lb-ft of torque.
Following its Detroit debut, look for the new Nissan Titan to hit dealer showrooms during the second part of 2015.
