Geneva LIVE: Lexus RC 350 F Sport

The RC 350 F Sport slots between the base RC 350 and the RC F.

Lexus has unveiled the 2015 RC 350 F Sport at the Geneva Motor Show. The F Sport is a mid-range model that slots between the base RC 350 and the 450-plus-horsepower RC F.

Like the regular RC 350, the F Sport model is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine tuned to generate 306 horsepower and 277 lb-ft. of torque. The six-cylinder mill is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission that spins the rear wheels. Lexus has not published performance data.

The F Sport packs Lexus' Adaptive Variable Suspension, a setup that electronically adjusts the damping on each wheel based on road conditions, speeds and vehicle body motion. It can be complemented with an optional package dubbed Lexus Dynamic Handling that brings handling-focused equipment such as four-wheel steering.

Visually, the F Sport looks more dynamic than the regular RC 350 thanks to a model-specific version of Lexus' trademarked spindle grille with mesh inserts, a sprinkling of F Sport emblems and 19-inch alloy wheels.

The interior is upgraded with a bespoke steering wheel upholstered with perforated leather, exclusive Rioja Red upholstery on the seats and Silver Performance trim on the door panels, the dashboard and the center console. A configurable digital instrument cluster replaces traditional analog gauges, and a large color screen located near the top of the dashboard runs the car's infotainment system.

Following its debut in Geneva, the 2015 Lexus RC 350 F Sport will land in showrooms across the United States next summer. Pricing information will be published closer to its on-sale date.
