LA LIVE: 2015 Toyota Prius v

Hybrid hatchback gets exterior revisions and new interior features.

Toyota will reveal its revised 2015 Prius v in Los Angeles this week, offering a revised exterior and improved interior features.

On the outside, the 2015 Prius v gets three new color options: Attitude Black metallic, Absolutely Red and Toasted Walnut Pearl. The front bumper, grille and headlights are all new, giving the super-efficient hatchback a sportier face.

New interior options include an upgraded Entune audio system; a power, 8-way driver's seat with lumbar adjust; a 4.2-inch TFT screen (standard on the "Three" trim and higher); and an upgraded Advanced Technology Package)

The Prius v utilizes the same Hybrid Synergy Drive system as the standard Prius, delivering a net system output of 134hp from an 80hp, Atkinson-cycle gas engine and an 80hp (60kW) electric motor. In the Prius v, this powertrain is good for 44 miles per gallon in the city and 40 on the highway, for an EPA-certified 42 mpg overall.

The hatchback's 3.1-inch longer wheelbase and 5.9-inch longer body give it increased utility over the standard Prius, giving it enough interior volume to be classified as a midsize by the EPA.
