LA LIVE: 2016 Mazda Mazda6

The Mazda6 gets its first major update since launching in 2012.

Mazda has freshened its popular Mazda6 sedan at the 2014 Los Angeles auto show. The update is the sedan's first since being introduced in 2012.

The 6's face largely carries over, but now includes new-look headlights with LED accents, as well as a new grille with pronounced horizontal slats. Top-spec Mazda6 models even get a unique edge lighting effect around the new grille.

Other exterior tweaks include a compact "shark fin” antenna, new 19-inch wheels and two new exterior color options — Sonic Silver Metallic and Titanium Flash Mica.

Inside the 2016 Mazda6 gets a more refined interior with tighter panel gaps, seven-inch center display screen, and the latest version of Mazda's Mazda Connect infotainment system. The 2016 Mazda6 also features the brand's first application of an Electrical Parking Brake.

No changes have been made to the 6's 2.5L Skyactiv four-cylinder engine.

Look for the revised 2016 Mazda Mazda6 to arrive on dealer lots within the coming weeks.
