Ford brings one-off F-150 Halo Sandcat to E3
Celebrating the launch of Halo 5: Guardians, the pickup has been heavily customized with off-road equipment and an integrated Xbox One.
Ford has unveiled a one-off F-150, known as the Halo Sandcat, to celebrate the release of Halo 5: Guardians for Xbox One.
Developed with the help of Galpin Auto Sports, the special-edition pickup takes inspiration from Halo's United Nations Space Command vehicle design. It is based on the F-150 Lariat SuperCrew 4x4 with Ford's 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and FX4 off-road package.
The 'Sandcat' customizations start with Addictive Desert Designs' Baja XTR off-road conversion kit, which includes FOX Racing shocks, Deaver leaf springs, a Currie floating rear axle, ADD fenders, side steps, a chase rack and 17-inch wheels with off-road tires.
A Halo body wrap completes the militaristic style, while an integrated Xbox One game system is paired with displays in the rear head rests.
The Sandcat pickup will be on display this week at the Los Angeles Convention Center for the E3 gaming expo.
