Buick global sales surge by 20 percent in first half
The brand is now the fifth largest in China and outsells Acura, Infiniti and Lincoln in North America.
General Motors is celebrating another month of strong global growth for its Buick brand.
The company claims Buick is outpacing all major international brands, surging by more than 20 percent to 675,964 units in the first half of the year. The brand is now said to be the fifth largest in China, while outselling Acura, Infiniti and Lincoln in North America.
Taking advantage of the ongoing boom in crossover sales, the Encore has now reached its half-million sales milestone with less than four years on the market.
"Encore has been a success story in every market, though North America has led the way thus far in 2016 with 36,365 sales through June," the company said in a statement.
Buick's most popular global model, the Envision crossover, has just completed its first month of availability in the US market. The Cascada convertible arrived earlier in the year, while the next-generation LaCrosse flagship sedan is now heading to showrooms.
