LA LIVE: Porsche Panamera Executive edition, new V6 turbo
The new V6 delivers 330 horsepower, up 20 hp from the previous generation.
Porsche has brought several new Panamera variants to the Los Angeles Auto Show, introducing a new V6 turbocharged engine and a stretched Executive edition.
The new entry-level engine boasts 330 horsepower, an increase of 20 ponies over the equivalent powerplant in the previous-generation Panamera. The redeveloped mill promises a significant increase in fuel economy, but Porsche has not yet released US-market EPA figures.
The standard wheelbase Panamera has also been joined by a longer Executive edition, lengthening the wheelbase by 5.9 inches. Standard features are enhanced with a large panoramic roof, heated comfort seats, rear adjustable seats and adaptive air suspension with electronically controlled dampers.
The Executive is available for the Panamera 4 with 330 horsepower, the E-Hybrid with 462 ponies, the 4S with 440 horses or the Turbo with 550 hp. The latter two packages feature rear-wheel steering and soft-close doors, while the Turbo boasts four-zone climate control, LED main headlights and ambient interior lighting.
Executive buyers can opt for a large rear center console and Porsche's latest rear seat entertainment system with 10.1-inch displays in the backrests of the front seats.
The Panamera range now includes nine different packages. The company expects to begin delivering the 4S and Turbo early next year.
