Contradicting initial reports, Waymo has confirmed that its minivan involved in the recent Chandler, Arizona, crash was operating in manual mode when it was struck by a Honda Civic last week.

Video captured by the Chrysler Pacifica shows the Civic drive over a raised median from the oncoming lanes and strike the van's front quarter.

The accident was reportedly caused by a third vehicle that ran a red light, causing the Civic driver to swerve into oncoming traffic and hit the Pacifica, according to Fox News.

The Waymo test driver is said to have sustained injuries that required hospitalization.
