Geneva LIVE: Lagonda All-Terrain Concept
Aston Martin Lagonda plans to start building EVs in 2022.
Aston Martin Lagonda has presented the Lagonda All-Terrain Concept, an all-electric SUV that carries forward the Vision Concept revealed last year in Geneva.
The company plans to make Lagonda the first zero-emissions luxury brand. The Vision Concept was focused solely on road travel, while the All-Terrain Concept adds off-road utility.
The SUV's futuristic design language is said to be inspired by the world of super yachts, with rear-hinged back doors and roof sections that open upwards to further ease ingress and egress.
"'Just as with the materials and the exterior design, the technology should be warm and involving rather than cold and impersonal," says Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichman. "This is the future and it should be something that people are inspired and delighted by rather than perplexed and frightened by."
Aston Martin's new St Athan production facility will begin building EVs in 2022.
