New York LIVE: 2020 Hyundai Venue
The Venue represents the seventh SUV in Hyundai's lineup.
Hyundai has debuted the all-new 2020 Venue at the New York International Auto Show.
The small crossover serves as a new entry-level model, the seventh and most affordable nameplate in Hyundai's SUV lineup.
The Venue extends Hyundai's latest SUV design language with unique lighting, placing squarish headlights below razor-thin daytime running lights and turn signals.
Interestingly, the Venue has a seemingly large appearance in photos yet fits into roughly the same footprint as the Hyundai Accent -- more than five inches shorter than the Kona. The company managed to squeeze nearly 19 cubic feet of cargo space into the rear with the seats up, or nearly 32 cubic feet with the seats folded down.
The Venue is powered by a Smartstream Gamma 1.6-liter engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox or CVT, achieving up to 33 mpg combined.
Despite its small size, the crossover integrates many of Hyundai's latest safety technologies including automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic warning, and blind-spot detection.
The Venue is expected to land in showrooms in the fourth quarter of the year.
