The loss is expected to be worth at least $2.1 million.

A brush fire has reportedly destroyed dozens of cars at a CarMax dealership in Bakersfield, California.

The fire burned 26 vehicles to the ground and caused total-loss damage to 60 more, with the total loss estimated to be worth $2.1 million or higher, according to 23ABC News.

California Highway Patrol suggests a semi truck may have been dragging a chain when it passed nearby, igniting dry grass and consuming 20 acres before the flames reached the car lot.

"At CarMax, the safety of our associates and customers is our top priority. We have evacuated and closed our Bakersfield store for their safety," the company said in a statement. "We're grateful for local emergency teams who have responded to this event. We continue to assess the damage."

Dozens of firefighters responded and successfully extinguished the blaze, with no reports of injuries.
