Audi e-tron climbs the Streif ski course [Video]
The EV has been fitted with studded tires to claw its way up the snowy incline.
Audi has taken its e-tron technology demonstrator to Austria's legendary Streif downhill skiing race course.
The all-electric crossover was outfitted with aggressively studded tires and a "special quattro powertrain" with two electric motors on the rear axle.
The modifications allowed the vehicle to successfully claw up the steep snowy slope, climbing the steepest 'Mausefalle' section with an 85 percent gradient.
"Conquering an 85 percent gradient sounds impossible at first," said driver Mattias Ekström. "Even I was impressed with the way this car handles such difficult terrain."
