Audi developing small electric sedan to slot below e-tron GT

Audi has quietly confirmed plans to launch a small all-electric sedan to slot below the flagship e-tron GT (pictured).

Speaking to Autocar at the recent Geneva Motor Show, Audi design head Marc Lichte mentioned the sedan in an outline of the company's EV roadmap for the next few years.

"There will be SUVs and low-floor sporty cars such as the E-tron GT, which is our 'halo' car," he said. "There will be an E-tron GT in the [A4- sized] segment as well. We're working on this right now."

Both the sedan and the A6-sized e-tron GT will share the same Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture.

The first PPE-based models are slated to arrive before the end of 2021, while the A4-sized sedan is expected to follow in 2023.
