Audi reveals 2020 S8 with 563 horsepower

The performance sedan features standard active suspension and four-wheel steering.

Audi has revealed the 2020 S8, upgrading the sedan with more power and technology for the latest model year.

The S8's 4.0-liter biturbo V8 delivers 571PS (563 horsepower) and 590 pound-feet of torque, topping the A8's twin-turbo V8 by more than 100 ponies and 100 pound-feet. The engine benefits from cylinder deactivation and 48-volt mild hybrid technology to improve fuel efficiency.

The performance-focused sedan features standard all-wheel steering and predictive active suspension, limiting body roll to just 2.5 degrees in 'dynamic' mode and lifting the car by up to 50 mm for easier ingress and egress when the doors are opened.

The exterior features a few minor aesthetic tweaks including a revised front bumper, side sills, and dual twin exhaust outlets. Inside, buyers can now choose a Carbon Vector upper inlay.

Audi has only released pictures of the short-wheelbase S8. US buyers will only be able to purchase the long-wheelbase edition, presumably with a six-figure price tag.
