Audi Sport teaser hints at RS 6 Avant

The wagon is rumored to contain 650 horsepower.

Audi Sport has posted a darkened teaser photo hinting at the next-generation RS 6 Avant.

Not much can be seen in the photo, except for the rear section of a roofline that seems to fit a wagon silhouette.

The high-performance wagon is rumored to be powered by Audi's twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, which has been adapted for the Lamborghini Urus and other models.

The most optimistic rumors point to 650+ horsepower, though it seems unlikely that Audi would be given the green light to make a wagon that is more powerful than the Urus. The C7-generation RS 6 Avant Performance already reached 597 horsepower, however, and the small-batch Nogaro Edition raised the benchmark to nearly 700 ponies.

An executive early this year suggested Audi was considering selling the new A6 Avant and the flagship RS 6 Avant in US showrooms. The company was still working out the numbers and had not yet made a final decision.
