Audi teases production e-tron Sportback ahead of LA debut
The company will also debut the new RS Q8 at the show.
Audi has announced plans to reveal the production e-tron Sportback and the new RS Q8 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The company has also posted a teaser photo showing the Sportback's Digital Matrix headlights, which feature approximately one million micromirrors to selectively darken and illuminate the field of view. Unfortunately, the innovative technology is still illegal in the US thanks to the NHTSA's antiquated laws related to high beams and low beams.
The low-slung EV will borrow the e-tron SUV's powertrain and will be built on the same assembly line in Brussels.
The RS Q8 will make its global debut as the flagship Q model, powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine and a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The MHEV tech allows the crossover to 'glide' for up to 40 seconds with the engine switched off at speeds between 34 and 99 mph.
Both models will be revealed on November 20.
