Mark Del Rosso steps down as Audi of America president, Cian O'Brien to serve in interim

Audi of America President Mark Del Rosso (pictured, right) is departing, the company announced Thursday with no further explanation. Chief Operating Officer Cian O'Brien (left) will step into Del Rosso's former position.

Audi's announcement was very brief and contained no information regarding the reason for Del Rosso's departure. The release had only brief praise for Del Rosso's achievements during his tenure at Audi of America.

"Del Rosso spent 11 years in leadership roles at Audi and Bentley. In his nearly nine years leading the U.S. sales operations at Audi, he more than doubled new car sales, strengthened the financial health of the dealer network and managed profitable growth to ensure greater franchise value. His efforts helped strengthen the position of the Audi brand in the U.S. premium market," the company said.
