Spotted: 2020 Audi Q7 refresh caught on public roads

Audi's big people-mover will get a once-over for 2020.

Spies caught the 2020 Audi Q7 testing on public roads in Germany this week, giving us our first glimpse at what we can expect to change when the current model gets some mid-cycle love.

The development car pictured here has some highly selective camouflage, with elements of the front and rear carefully obscured. Up front, we're looking at a new fascia, fog lamp inserts and a revised grille.

Out back, it looks like the tailgate finish panels and lower valence will get the bulk of the attention.

Spies report that this Q7's interior was covered, so expect to see some updates inside as well.

Audi will face more competition in coming years with BMW committing to the three-row space with its new X7 and Alfa Romeo preparing to enter the segment with a new vehicle above its Stelvio compact.

With that in mind, we wouldn't be surprised if Audi has some new powertrain upgrades in the pipeline for the Q7 too. Stay tuned.
