Audi introduces limited-edition R8 Selection 24Hby Ronan Glon
The 24h celebrates the R8\'s success out on the track.
Audi has introduced a limited-edition variant of the R8 V10 plus to celebrate the nameplate's success out on the track.
The model is called selection 24h. Finished in gray with black and red accents, it stands out from the stock R8 thanks to a carbon fiber body kit, black-tinted tail pipes, a sprinkling of "R8 24h" emblems, and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels finished in gloss black. The cabin receives carbon fiber accents on the dashboard and on the center console, as well as a numbered plaque.
More important updates are found under the sheet metal. Every selection 24h comes standard with dynamic steering, an adaptive and fully adjustable suspension, and headlights that pack Audi's laser beam technology.
Audi hasn't made any mechanical modifications to the selection 24h, meaning it's powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine that makes 540 horsepower at 7,800 rpm and 398 pound-feet of torque at 6,500 rpm. The coupe hits 62 mph from a stop in 3.2 seconds, and it goes on to a top speed of 205 mph.
Production of the Audi R8 selection 24h will be limited to -- you guessed it -- 24 examples. Pricing starts at €229,000, a hefty sum that converts to over $260,000. In comparison, the standard R8 V10 plus is priced at €190,000 (about $216,000) in Germany.
It doesn't sound like we'll see the R8 selection 24h on our shores.
