2020 Bentley Flying Spur to get 3D leather

The new Flying Spur will debut later this year.

2019 marks Bentley's 100th anniversary, and the Crewe-based automaker is celebrating the occasion by introducing an all-new version of its Flying Spur sedan.

Bentley is keeping the details of the new Flying Spur a secret for now -- including the car's exterior styling -- but the company issued a pair of teaser images on Thursday, giving us a sneak peek of the luxury sedan's interior.

Highlighted in the teaser images is a new three-dimensional, textured leather upholstery that Bentley says it developed specifically for the Flying Spur. Seen here on the Flying Spur's door, but likely to be used throughout the cabin, the unique leather treatment gives the Flying Spur's interior a bit more visual interest.

As in years past, the Flying Spur will be positioned as a four-door alternative to the Continental GT coupe. Bentley promises the new Flying Spur "will deliver an unparalleled touring experience for the driver and passengers alike.”

Power for the new Flying Spur is expected to be provided by a 6.0L W12 engine developing more than 600 horsepower. A V8-powered model is also likely, as is a plug-in hybrid. The Flying Spur will use an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Bentley has not announced when the all-new Flying Spur will make its official debut, but expect to see the grand touring sedan by the end of the year.
