The car honors 'Bentley Boys' of the 1930s.

Bentley has revealed the Continental GT Number 9, an exclusive special edition celebrating the company's centenary in 2019.

Based on the Continental GT, the Number 9 has been enhanced by Bentley's Mulliner customization division and pays homage to Sir Henry Ralph 'Tim' Birkin. The customer is described as "one of the original Bentley Boys of the 1920s and '30s," serving as an investor and racing driver.

Birkin drove a supercharged 4.5-liter Bentley 'Blower' at the 1930 Le Mans 24 Hours race. With forced induction, power increased to 175 horsepower.

The modern Continental GT Number 9 features heritage hides that take inspiration from the 'Bentley Boy' era, along with a British Jaeger dashboard clock inspired by 1930 dials and 18K gold plated organ stops that aim to evoke vintage race cars. The Bentley Rotating Display even includes a wood insert taken from Birkin's original race car.

Only 100 examples will be built, arriving sometime later this year.
