Bentley to electrify lineup by 2023, launch EV by 2025

The company believes many luxury buyers are open to electric vehicles.

Bentley has reaffirmed its commitment to offer electrified powertrains across its entire lineup within the next four years.

"We will bring out hybrid versions of all our models by 2023," Bentley's sales and marketing chief, Chris Craft, recently told RoadShow.

The luxury marque's first plug-in model, the Bentayga Hybrid, made its official debut early last year in Geneva. Billed as the company's most efficient vehicle, the flagship SUV pairs a three-liter gasoline V6 engine and an electric motor. Drivers can expect to cruise on electricity alone for around 25 miles, though the official EPA-estimated range has yet to be announced.

Bentley sees significant interest in pure electric vehicles among its target demographic. The automaker plans to launch its first EV by 2025.

Unconfirmed rumors suggest the company may be considering several options for its first EV, perhaps an all-electric Mulsanne replacement or a smaller four-seat coupe.
