BMW details 7 Series 'The Next 100 Years' special edition
The centennial model will be limited to just 100 units globally, including just five for the US market.
BMW has introduced the Individual 7 Series 'The Next 100 Years,' a special edition to celebrate the company's centenary.
The centennial package will be limited to just 100 units globally, with three different engine variants. Only five cars will be sent to the US market, each in M760i xDrive Excellence trim and powered by a retuned V12 engine with an expected output of 610 horsepower.
BMW suggests the more powerful V12 will be able to launch the car to 60 mph in approximately 3.6 seconds. The standard M760i xDrive is claimed to hit the same speed in 3.9 seconds.
The sedan has been visually distinguished by its exclusive Centennial Blue paint finish and unique 20-inch V-spoke alloy wheels. It showcases some of the most premium features available in the 7 Series family.
BMW chose Smoke White full Merino leather with black accents for the interior upholstery, paired with Piano Finish Black interior strips and matching wood elements throughout.
The German automaker has commissioned a unique Centennial Fountain Pen from Montblanc. The writing instrument takes design inspiration from the Next 100 Years package, with engraving that matches backstitching on the Merino leather seats.
The centennial 7 Series is scheduled to arrive by the end of the year. BMW has not announced pricing details, though the limited-edition model presumably commands a hefty premium.
