BMW X3 xDrive30e plug-in hybrid to arrive in Q1
The crossover is expected to have around 20 miles of electric range.
BMW has announced plans to launch the X3 xDrive30e plug-in hybrid in the US market by spring 2020.
Arriving as BMW's third PHEV crossover, the electrified X3 integrates a 12-kWh battery that can cruise for around 20 miles before the four-cylinder combustion engine kicks in.
The xDrive30e provides a combined system output of 292 horsepower, offering an advantage over the standard xDrive30i with 248 horsepower. Acceleration to 62 mph is slightly quicker at 6.1 seconds.
As an added bonus, the plug-in X3 is expected to be certified for HOV lane use in certain states.
The X3 xDrive30e will be followed by an all-electric X3 variant later in 2020.
