Buick confirms Encore GX coming to US showrooms next year

The GX will slot between the smaller Encore and the larger Envision and Enclave models.

Confirming recent reports, General Motors has announced plans to bring the Buick Encore GX to US showrooms.

Recently unveiled in China, the GX slots between the smaller Encore and larger Envision and Enclave models.

The company says almost 90 percent of US Buick sales come from SUVs and crossovers. The brand will have four models in the most popular categories: small, compact, and midsize.

The GX features standard front pedestrian braking, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, and lane keep assist with lane departure warning. The Enclave's rear camera mirror and surround camera system will be available as an option.

Built in China, the Encore GX is scheduled to arrive in the US market early next year.
