GM teases all-new Encore and larger GX variant

Both crossovers will be unveiled in Shanghai.

General Motors has released its first teaser photo for the redesigned Buick Encore and the new GX variant.

The siblings will be equipped with a new nine-speed automatic transmission and a new CVT, along with improved connectivity and styling updates.

The GX appears to be a slightly larger version, presumably with a stretched wheelbase.

The Encore represents the Buick brand's first crossover built in China, arriving on the market in 2012. The model is also particularly important in the US market, quickly rising to become Buick's best-selling nameplate. Last year, the Encore accounted for nearly half of the brand's domestic sales volume.

The all-new Encore and Encore GX will be revealed in Shanghai on April 15.
