Buick Regal next to get Avenir trimby Justin King
Sedans may be struggling to sell, but demand is apparently rising for premium packages with higher price tags.
General Motors has previewed the 2019 Buick Regal Avenir, the fourth model to be adorned with the premium Avenir badge.
The company is apparently experiencing strong demand for its new Avenir sub-brand. The Enclave Avenir how sells faster than all other Enclave trims, accounting for 20 percent of the model's overall sales in the US market. With the LaCrosse, the Avenir edition is said to sell 70 percent faster than other trim levels.
Half of all Regal Sportback buyers are already choosing the top trim level, and GM points out that demand has risen 30 percent in the last four years for midsize cars priced from $30,000 to $40,000.
The Regal Avenir will debut Buick's first cloud-connected infotainment system, benefiting from personalized profiles, embedded apps, improved voice recognition and system updates.
The sedan's exterior is visually distinguished by the Avenir three-dimensional mesh upper grille, paired with exclusive 19-inch Pearl Nickel wheels. Inside, buyers can opt for a Whisper Beige theme with Ebony accents and diamond-quilt front seat stitching.
Pricing will be announced early this fall when the Regal Avenir begins arriving in showrooms.
