Cadillac teases curved OLED display for 2021 Escalade
The industry-first tech promises a wider color range and deeper black levels.
General Motors has released a 2021 Cadillac Escalade teaser video highlighting its curved OLED instrument cluster.
The company says the redesigned SUV will be the industry's first to feature a curved OLED, "with over 38 inches diagonal of total display." The measurement reference suggests multiple individual OLED panels have a combined span of more than three feet, rather than a single massive screen.
The OLED is said to feature twice the pixel density of a 4K television, with the largest color range available in the automotive industry and deeper blacks than other display technologies.
The 2021 Escalade is due to be revealed February 4 in Los Angeles to coincide with Oscars week.
