2020 Chevy Corvette leak shows 11.3-second quarter mile
The C8 is apparently much quicker at the drag strip than the C7 generation.
The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette may be significantly quicker at the drag strip when going up against the current C7 generation.
A leaked spec sheet obtained from a General Motors engineer and posted on CorvetteForum shows a quarter-mile time of 11.3 seconds at 121 mph.
The C7 Corvette Stingray equipped with the Z51 Performance Package carries an official quarter-mile time of 12 seconds at 119 mph, according to General Motors' own estimates published in 2013.
The current Z06 variant is still ahead with a 10.95-second quarter mile at 127 mph, while the flagship ZR1 edition shaves the sprint to 10.6 seconds at 134 mph.
GM has not yet officially confirmed the specs in the leaked document, though the numbers appear plausible. Additional details will presumably surface before the mid-engine Corvette begins rolling off the assembly line later this year.
