Chevy Bolt to get refreshed interior?

The upgraded cabin is expected to roll out for the 2021 model year.

General Motors is reportedly planning to upgrade the Bolt once again for the 2021 model year, refreshing the interior to help reinvigorate sales.

The EV received new battery cells for MY2020, increasing range from 238 miles to 259 miles -- edging ahead of the base Tesla Model 3 and several other rivals.

The subcompact has generated criticism for its interior, both for disappointing aesthetics and an issue with windshield glare that has prompted several safety complaints submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Sources tell GM Authority the 2021 Bolt will receive new seats and other changes inside the cabin. It is unclear if the revisions will address the glare complaints, however.

The Bolt is among Chevy's worst-selling nameplates, with US-market sales sliding by nearly 23 percent to around 18,000 units in 2018. A crossover variant is expected to arrive as early as next year.
