GM interior sketch hints at new Corvette Z06
The layout has added even more carbon fiber.
General Motors has released a teaser sketch for a new Chevrolet Corvette interior configuration, apparently hinting at the Z06 edition.
CNET received the design sketch directly from Chevrolet, billed as an "early render of a potential interior" without any official confirmation of which variant it shows, though it clearly features a Z06 badge on the steering wheel.
The cabin has been outfitted with lots of carbon-fiber trim, with a map of the Mugello Circuit in Italy presented on the digital instrument cluster. The display also shows a mysterious "ARM" mode, while a red button is labeled "Spec Mode."
Numerous rumors have pointed to several more powertrain configurations in the pipeline for the C8 generation. The Z06 is expected to share its engine architecture with the C8.R race car, which integrates a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated mill with a flat-plane crank.
The UAW strike apparently stalled production plans for the basic 2020 Corvette Stingray coupe and corvette, suggesting the Z06 may be at least a year away. The C8 generation is also expected to get a flagship Zora edition with a much more powerful hybrid system.
