GM files Bolt EUV trademark, hinting at electric crossover

The company previously promised two new Bolt-based models by 2020.

General Motors has submitted a trademark filing for the term "Bolt EUV," hinting at a slightly larger variant aimed at crossover buyers.

An image published in a 2017 investor presentation showed a mystery crossover (pictured) that resembled the current Bolt but slightly larger and higher riding.

The rendering was accompanied by a note promising two new CUV entries by 2020.

The trademark filing suggests GM may keep the Chevrolet Bolt nameplate for at least one of the new models, indicating it may not be radically different from the existing EV, though none of the details have been officially confirmed.
