GM shows US-bound 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer

The Trailblazer is presumably based on the same platform that underpins the Buick Encore GX.

General Motors has revealed the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer, reviving a nameplate that had been retired from the US market a decade ago.

First unveiled in China last month, the Trailblazer is believed to be closely related to the Buick Encore GX and will bridge the gap between the Trax and Equinox.

Presented in its RS trim with a two-tone roof and dark accents, the new crossover carries forward the Blazer's design language with a squarish form and tall grille.

"The Trailblazer's great design enables more personalization," says Chevy's car and crossover marketing director, Steve Majoros. "Trailblazer is a continuation of the design language for Chevy's crossover family and extends our momentum into one of the industry's fastest-growing segments."

The company will announced pricing and technical specifications closer to the Trailblazer's early 2020 arrival.
