Dodge reveals Widebody package for Charger Scat Pack and Hellcat

The Challenger is no longer the only muscular Dodge with big fenders.

Not content to let its two-door muscle machine have all the fun, Dodge treated media to a first glimpse at the new Widebody performance package for the Charger Scat Pack and Hellcat.

As with the Challenger, the big V8s get to have all the fun. The Widebody package pushes the rubber out at all four corners. Each wheel is wrapped in 305/35ZR20 Pirelli rubber (all-season and summer flavors are both available).

The sexy fender flares are necessary in order to fit those meaty shoes (and their 20x11-inch wheels), and the punched-out look complements the aggressive front and rear bumpers. The packages adds 3.5 inches to the body width of the already-hefty Charger.

Underneath, Widebody models get re-tuned suspension components designed to take advantage of the extra grip, plus six-piston Brembo brakes (which are already standard on Hellcats). The Scat Pack, in particular, will be the most the most track-focused example of a Charger available in showrooms.

To that point, Dodge says the Hellcat Widebody is 2.1 seconds quicker around the company's 2.1-mile evaluation course. The Scat Pack Widebody bested the base model by 1.3 seconds. The Hellcat will pull .96 g on a skidpad in this configuration; the Scat Pack, .98.

Both are still plenty quick in a straight line too, managing 3.6 and 4.3 seconds to 60 MPH, respectively.
