Ferrari debuts 812 GTS with 789 horsepower
The convertible's V12 has a screaming 8,900-rpm redline.
Ferrari has revealed the 812 GTS, billed as the most powerful convertible on the market.
The GTS is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 with 789 horsepower and 530 pound-feet of torque, topping the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster. Drivers can keep the pedal down all the way to 8,900 rpm.
Slightly heavier than the hardtop 812 Superfast, the convertible can still hit 62 mph in less than three seconds and tops out at over 211 mph.
The retractable top can be deployed or stowed in 14 seconds at speeds of up to 28 mph. For added comfort when the top is open, an electrically actuated windscreen rises behind the seats.
The 812 GTS celebrates 50 years since Ferrari debuted its last spider with a front-mounted V12 engine.
