Ferrari teases one-off Prototipo

The car will go to a lucky collector in Hong Kong.

Ferrari has released a video teasing what could be a one-off Ferrari called the Prototipo (or "prototype” in Italian). The car is likely going to a wealthy collector in Hong Kong.

The official reveal comes on March 25, 2019, at 3:00 pm Central European Time. A video posted to the Ferrari Facebook page starts out with the text "A Blackbird Film,” which is a reference to Blackbird Concessionaires the official Ferrari dealer of Hong Kong.

According to Motor1, the firm has helped put other one-off Ferraris into the hands of collectors before, one of them being the 488 GTB-based SP38. The article also points to the Instagram account of a Mr T.K. Mak, who hinted that he had something to do with the reveal. Lastly, the car is also a topic of discussion on Ferrari Chat, a forum for owners and fans of the prancing horse badge. There, members believe that the Prototipo is based on the Ferrari LaFerrari.

We will know more in a few hours, but if you can't wait that long, Ferrari has helpfully revealed a video on its Facebook page.
