Ferrari reveals FXX-K Evo race car
It\'s an even more extreme version of the FXX-K.
Ferrari has revealed images of its FXX-K Evo, an intensely bewinged and beducted beast with 1,050 horsepower and hybrid gasolline-electric drive.
The FXX-K Evo is a more hard core race car based on the FXX-K, which is itself based on the Ferrari LaFerrari. As such, it is not meant for the street, but an exclusive nine-event race series for owners.
The most apparent changes are a more aggressive nose with canards, a rear diffuser, and a full-width rear wing. Vortex generators along the back and underside also help push down towards the tarmac. According to Ferrari, these aerodynamic aids generate 1,411 pounds of downforce at 124 mph and an incredible 1,830 pounds at top speed.
In addition, Ferrari made changes to the suspension and added a new steering wheel design and larger display to the interior.
While the FXX-K Evo will see only limited production — the regular FXX-K saw only 40 made — existing FXX-K owners can purchase the new parts and have them installed.
