$380K all-electric retro Mustang heads to Goodwood

UK-based Charge has licensed official bodyshell designs from 1960s-era Mustangs.

British startup Charge Automotive is bringing its all-electric classic Ford Mustang to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, presenting the car to the public as the company takes orders for the planned 499-unit production run.

The EV is essentially custom built from the ground up and clad in an officially licensed bodyshell from late-1960s Mustangs, resurrecting the classic pony car with an electric powertrain and modern interior.

Charge expects the Mustang to run for 200 miles on a single charge, with a zero-to-60 mph benchmark just under four seconds. Buyers can choose from rear- or all-wheel drive configurations.

The company expects to begin delivering the first units to customers this September, each with a price tag starting at £300,000 (~$381,000 USD).
