Ford Performance hints at Detroit debut - 'STayTuned'

Perhaps coincidentally, Recaro has teased new performance seats that appear to be installed in a Focus RS and a mystery SUV.

Ford Performance has issued a teaser hinting at a new vehicle unveiling next week at the North American International Auto Show.

"The newest addition to the @FordPerformance lineup is sure to catch everyone's attention," the company wrote on Twitter. "Even wheelmen like @BenCollinsStig. #FordNAIAS#STayTuned."

The wording suggests the unveiling will be an entirely new model adorned with an ST badge.

Coinciding with the Ford teaser, Recaro has released images of two new seats. One set appears to be fitted in a Focus RS, which is already a current model in the Ford Performance lineup, while the other is for a mystery SUV.

Ford has a long history of using Recaro seats in its performance vehicles, hinting at a possible Ford Performance SUV.

The #STayTuned teaser shows a rear liftgate/hatch with an ST logo that does not match the placement on the current Focus or Fiesta. It is also lower than the standard liftgate badge layout on the Explorer and Escape, however it appears to be an appropriate alignment for an Edge ST.

Additional details could surface ahead of the Detroit auto show.
