Ford F-Series Super Duty gets Tremor off-road package
The pickup gains a two-inch lift, 35-inch tires, and bigger shocks.
Ford's F-Series Super Duty lineup has received a new Tremor off-road package for the 2020 model year.
Geared for pickup owners who tow a boat or camper and then ditch the trailer to go off-road, the Tremor features a set of 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires with aggressive tread on 18-inch matte black wheels.
The larger tires combined with a two-inch front lift and shorter air dam provide 10.8 inches of ground clearance, a 33-inch water fording depth, and the best approach and departure angles of any Super Duty pickup ever.
Engineers added new progressive-rate springs that balance towing needs and body motion control on rugged terrain. The rear stabilizer bar is tuned for a lower spring rate for less head toss during severe suspension movement. The standard shocks have been swapped for 1.7-inch twin-tube dampers.
Additional hardware includes a Dana limited-slip front differential, off-road running boards, and skid plates borrowed from the FX4 package.
The Tremor package will be available when the 2020 Super Duty arrives in showrooms later this year.
