Ford Mustang Shelby GT350, GT350R add Heritage Edition for 2020
The package features throwback color schemes.
Ford has revealed the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350 Heritage Edition, reviving a color scheme first used for the historic 1965 fastback coupe that helped establish the brand.
Available for both the GT350 and GT350R, the throwback livery pairs Wimbledon White paint with Guardsman Blue side and over-the-top racing stripes. The modern GT350 Heritage Edition carries forward the United States blue-and-white international racing colors, with front and rear badges finished in Guardsman Blue and a unique dash badge inside. GT350R models feature all-black seats with red accent stitching.
The company notes that Ken Miles drove the '65 GT350 fastback coupe on the track a year before he set lap records at Le Mans in the iconic GT40, achieving victory with the mustang at Green Valley Raceway in Texas on February 14, 1965.
"Looking back on it, what Ford and Carroll Shelby created back in the mid-'60s was so important to Mustang," says Ford Mustang marketing manager Jim Owens. "With their authentic exterior livery, unique appointments and performance Ken could have only dreamed of, the Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R Heritage Edition Package vehicles are a meaningful tribute to the legacy of the Shelby brand."
The Heritage Edition is available for $1,965 above the GT350 and GT350R's starting prices of $60,440 and $73,435, respectively.
